The festive season is a time of community - of coming together to support one another and give thanks.

Arethusa College Senior Indigenous Liaison Officer Chenoa Taiapa and Head of Philanthropy Mark Bennett got into the Christmas spirit this week, joining Inala Elders at their Christmas Markets.

Our team were overwhelmed by the generosity and interest other community groups and frontline workers, such as local paramedics and police, showed in our College and our young people. It was great to see Forest Lake Ward Councillor Charles Strunk and to connect with the local Elders and families in the area.

Our deepest thanks to Inala Community House and the Family Intervention Services team for donating boxes of books to the College.

Every year our Forest Lake campus puts together food hampers to help stock up family cupboards through school holiday periods like this end-of-year Christmas break.

The wellbeing team recently packed about 50 hampers and delivered them to grateful recipients in our campus community. It's just one of the many ways our College supports our young people and their families, particularly in times of need.

Our heartfelt thanks to the Uniting Church at Forest Lake and YMCA Kingston for donating the food that make up these much-appreciated hampers. We are deeply grateful your ongoing generosity and care for our community.

Huge thanks to our Forest Lake campus Christmas elves for putting these together and distributing them to families.
